Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have secured the Ligue 1 title with six matches remaining, following a narrow 1-0 win against Angers at the Parc des Princes. Desire Doue's decisive goal ensured PSG's fourth consecutive Ligue 1 championship and their 13th overall. This achievement marks the sixth time in seven seasons that PSG have clinched the title before May, excluding the Covid-19 interrupted 2019-20 season.
Luis Enrique, PSG's manager, expressed his ambition for the team to finish the season unbeaten. "Celebrating a title in early April shows that we've reached a very high level this season," he stated. "We've achieved this target, but we have more games to play. We are motivated to try and finish this season unbeaten. Nobody has done that in France before, so that's something that we want to achieve."

PSG currently holds 74 points from 28 matches, marking their second-best points tally at this stage in Ligue 1 history. The team is on track to surpass Nantes' record of 32 unbeaten games from the start of a season set three decades ago. No French club has ever completed a league campaign without losing.
The departure of Kylian Mbappe last season left fans uncertain about PSG's prospects under Luis Enrique. However, the team has thrived with Ousmane Dembele leading in goals with 21, supported by Bradley Barcola's 13 goals. "I think I'm very lucky to have the profile of players with such intelligence and versatility that they are also able to attack and defend as one," said Enrique.
This season, PSG has seen contributions from 18 different scorers, amassing 80 goals in just 28 games. This diverse scoring ability has reduced reliance on former stars like Mbappe, Lionel Messi, and Neymar.
PSG's dominance is evident as they have only dropped points in five draws this season. Their victory over Angers extended their winning streak to nine matches since February, leaving rivals unable to catch up. The team remains focused on further success as they prepare for upcoming challenges.
In addition to their domestic achievements, PSG aims for more silverware in international competitions. They face Aston Villa in the Champions League quarter-finals next week and will compete against Reims in the Coupe de France final next month.
Luis Enrique remains optimistic about PSG's form heading into these crucial fixtures: "We have the last two months ahead of us; we're in great form," he added. "Our target is to keep fighting and to go as far as possible in the Champions League."
