Luis Enrique Excited For Challenging Champions League Match Against Arsenal Favourites

Luis Enrique expresses enthusiasm for Paris Saint-Germain's upcoming Champions League match against Arsenal. Following a solid Ligue 1 victory, PSG aims to continue their unbeaten streak in Europe.

Paris Saint-Germain's head coach, Luis Enrique, is eagerly anticipating the upcoming Champions League clash against Arsenal. This follows PSG's commanding 3-1 victory over Rennes on Friday. The win, highlighted by Bradley Barcola's two goals and Lee Kang-In's header, keeps PSG unbeaten in Ligue 1 this season. This marks the third time in four seasons that they have achieved such a start.

Luis Enrique's team has been prolific in front of goal, scoring at least three times in five out of six Ligue 1 matches. This is more than any other team in Europe's top five leagues. Their next challenge is a trip to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal next Tuesday. Despite having never beaten Arsenal in European competition, Luis Enrique remains optimistic about maintaining their perfect record.

Enrique Looks Forward to Arsenal Clash

The coach expressed satisfaction with his team's performance against Rennes, noting their numerous scoring opportunities. "It was a very complete match from the beginning," he told BeIN Sports. "We scored three goals, but we could have scored more." Looking ahead to the Champions League match against Arsenal, he added, "We are going to play against another favourite (in Arsenal), it will be a stimulating match, we will prepare ourselves."

While Barcola's performance was noteworthy, Luis Enrique also praised Lee Kang-In for his contributions. The South Korean striker not only scored his third league goal of the season but also impressed defensively. He created seven chances and won seven duels during the match. "He was in the right place to score the goal as a clever striker," said Luis Enrique.

Kang-In's ability to hold up play and press intelligently was highlighted by the coach. "I really liked his performance," he stated. "He gave us consistency, he held the ball up when we needed him to." The coach further commended Kang-In for his pressing skills and ball recovery abilities.

Despite their strong attacking display, PSG conceded another goal late in the game through Arnaud Kalimuendo's penalty for Rennes. This means PSG has only kept one clean sheet in their first six Ligue 1 games this season.

Defensive Concerns

Luis Enrique addressed concerns about PSG's defence but remained unconcerned about their current form at the back. He noted that opponents are creating fewer chances compared to last season but still manage to score from set pieces like penalties. "Football is not being fair to us," he remarked.

"Our opponents are creating very few chances against us, far fewer than last season," he continued. "They get there (to set pieces) and they score." Despite these challenges, Luis Enrique acknowledged that perfection is unattainable: "We're not perfect and never will be."

As PSG prepares for their crucial Champions League encounter with Arsenal, they aim to build on their strong start to the season while addressing defensive vulnerabilities that have emerged early on.
