Paris Saint-Germain's manager, Luis Enrique, refrained from criticising referee Francois Letexier after a controversial incident involving Monaco defender Wilfried Singo. During the match on Wednesday, Singo's challenge left PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma with facial injuries. Despite the severity of the incident, Singo was not sent off. PSG managed to secure a 4-2 victory over Monaco, even though Donnarumma had to be substituted early in the game.
After trailing 2-1 in the second half, PSG demonstrated resilience by turning the game around. Goncalo Ramos scored an equaliser, followed by two goals from Ousmane Dembele. This comeback victory extended PSG's unbeaten streak in the league to 16 matches this season. The team now leads the table with 40 points, maintaining a comfortable 10-point gap over Marseille and Monaco.

Enrique expressed satisfaction with his team's performance despite acknowledging some challenges during the match. "The objective was achieved," he stated. "It was a difficult match; we weren't up to par at all times, but I'm happy with the result."
The incident involving Singo occurred when his studs-up challenge resulted in multiple cuts on Donnarumma's face. Although Singo had been booked earlier, French media reported that Letexier deemed the contact accidental rather than intentional. Consequently, Singo remained on the field while Donnarumma required treatment and was replaced by reserve goalkeeper Matvey Safonov.
Enrique commented on the refereeing decisions without direct criticism: "The refereeing decisions? I can't do anything; I couldn't see the action, but when you see an action like that it's always difficult," he told Bein Sports. "The players don't intend to hurt. It's difficult to referee this kind of match; I'm not talking about the refereeing work."
Following the match, PSG announced that Donnarumma would undergo medical tests on Thursday. His participation in their upcoming Coupe de France fixture against Lens on Sunday is uncertain due to his injuries. The team will need to assess his condition before making any decisions regarding his availability for future matches.
As PSG heads into the Christmas break leading the league standings, they remain focused on maintaining their strong form and addressing any challenges that arise from player injuries or other factors affecting their squad depth and performance levels.
