Luis Enrique Confirms PSG Squad Rotation For Upcoming Ligue 1 Encounter Against Angers

Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique confirmed squad rotation ahead of their Ligue 1 match against Angers. Despite recent Champions League challenges, PSG leads the league and aims to maintain form with a refreshed lineup.

Paris Saint-Germain's manager, Luis Enrique, has announced plans to rotate his squad for the upcoming Ligue 1 match against Angers at Stade Raymond Kopa. PSG's recent Champions League performance has been shaky, with a late loss to Atletico Madrid placing them 25th in the new 36-team league table. Despite this, they have excelled in Ligue 1 and lead Marseille by six points.

PSG's record against Angers is impressive, having won 19 out of their last 20 encounters across all competitions. "The most important match is tomorrow. Tomorrow, we'll rotate," stated Luis Enrique. "I feel that with so little rest I need players. Angers are a highly motivated opponent who play at home. They can defend well and create problems in transition thanks to their wingers. I need all the players ready."

PSG's Luis Enrique Announces Squad Changes for Angers

William Pacho will be unavailable for PSG as he travelled to Ecuador on Thursday ahead of the international break and missed Friday’s training session. This absence adds to the challenges faced by Luis Enrique as he prepares his team for the weekend clash.

In Ligue 1, PSG have been prolific, scoring a league-high of 29 goals from just ten matches. However, their European campaign has seen them struggle with finishing despite creating numerous chances. In their recent defeat to Atletico Madrid, PSG had 22 shots compared to Atletico's four but failed to convert these opportunities into goals.

"After a match like Wednesday's, and I've been through others in my career, it's difficult. Emotions are going to absorb everything," Luis Enrique commented on their recent struggles. "The result will make you see everything in a negative light. How am I feeling? Perfectly. The more difficult it is, the better."

Addressing Finishing Issues

Luis Enrique acknowledged a general problem with finishing in recent games but remains optimistic about overcoming it through confidence and creating clearer chances collectively. He recognises that this is part of a medium to long-term project with inevitable ups and downs.

The manager is eager for his team to regain their clinical edge against Angers this weekend as they aim to maintain their strong position in Ligue 1 while addressing their European shortcomings.
