Paris Saint-Germain's manager, Luis Enrique, has announced that several key players will be rested for the remaining Ligue 1 matches. This decision comes as the team prepares for crucial finals in both the Coupe de France and the Champions League. PSG has already secured the league title with six games left, positioning them on the brink of a historic treble.
The Parisian club is set to face Reims in the Coupe de France final on May 24. A week later, they will compete against Inter in Munich for their second Champions League final. Despite their impressive season, PSG's hopes for an unbeaten league run ended with a 3-1 loss to Nice two weeks ago, leaving little at stake in their last two league fixtures.

Luis Enrique has given Gianluigi Donnarumma, Achraf Hakimi, Marquinhos, Nuno Mendes, Willian Pacho, Fabian Ruiz, and Vitinha time off. These players are not expected back in training until next week. Discussing these changes ahead of Saturday’s match against Montpellier, Luis Enrique stated: "We have a set plan which depends on playing time and travelling throughout the season."
Enrique emphasised the importance of balancing rest and preparation to ensure players are in peak condition for both finals. "When the Champions League final is over, the vast majority will go to the national teams," he explained. Each player requires a tailored plan to maintain mental freshness and achieve team goals.
Ousmane Dembele is confirmed fit after participating as a substitute in PSG's recent Champions League semi-final victory over Arsenal. "Ousmane Dembele is perfectly fine," said Enrique. The forward trained with the team voluntarily despite having permission to rest.
PSG's journey to their second Champions League final marks a significant milestone for the club. Luis Enrique expressed his belief that PSG deserves this success after years of waiting. "If a team deserves to win, after waiting so long, it's PSG," he remarked.
Reflecting on PSG's history since its founding in 1970—the same year as his birth—Enrique hopes this connection leads to triumph in Europe’s premier club competition. However, he acknowledged that only one team can emerge victorious and expressed his hope that it would be PSG.
As PSG approaches these pivotal matches, they aim to manage player fitness carefully while striving for unprecedented achievements on both domestic and international fronts.
