Luis Enrique Highlights Teamwork After Ousmane Dembele's Two Goals In PSG Victory

Following Paris Saint-Germain's victory over Saint-Etienne, coach Luis Enrique praised the team's collective effort while acknowledging Ousmane Dembele's two goals. He emphasised that teamwork is paramount to their success in Ligue 1.

Paris Saint-Germain's coach, Luis Enrique, emphasised team effort following their 2-1 win over Saint-Etienne. Despite Ousmane Dembele's standout performance, scoring both goals within the first 23 minutes and earning Man of the Match, Enrique chose not to single him out. "I am very happy but I did not think anything of Dembele's match," he stated post-game. "We are a team, which plays with all the players."

Enrique also addressed Bradley Barcola's situation, who hasn't scored since November against Angers. Although Barcola had a goal disallowed for a foul on Sunday, Enrique remains supportive. "It's not a technical problem, it's confidence," he explained. "Barcola is an exceptional player that we recruited in Lyon for his abilities and characteristics."

Enrique Stresses Teamwork After Dembele's Goals

The coach believes that Barcola's current lack of goals doesn't diminish his value to the team. "He's the same as at the start of the season," Enrique noted. "That he's going through a period with less confidence, that's the truth." He stressed that what matters is Barcola's contribution to the team's overall dynamics.

PSG's victory has strengthened their position at the top of Ligue 1, putting them seven points ahead of Marseille. The club seems poised to secure their 10th league title in 12 seasons. Despite this success, Enrique maintains focus on collective performance rather than individual accolades.

When questioned about Randal Kolo Muani's future amid loan rumours, Enrique remained noncommittal. "I don't know," he commented when asked about potential transfers. He humorously added that for him, markets are about fruits and vegetables rather than player trades.

This approach highlights Enrique’s commitment to maintaining team unity and morale above all else. His focus remains on adapting to players' needs and fostering confidence within the squad.
