Luis Enrique Prioritises PSG Victory Against Stuttgart In Final Champions League Group Match

Luis Enrique insists that Paris Saint-Germain will focus solely on winning their final Champions League group match against Stuttgart, disregarding other results. He believes that maintaining concentration is crucial for success.

Paris Saint-Germain's head coach, Luis Enrique, emphasised that neither he nor his team will be distracted by external events during the final Champions League fixtures. A draw would suffice for PSG to advance to the next round. Despite their recent 4-2 victory over Manchester City, which elevated them to 22nd place, Enrique insists they will not take any risks against Stuttgart.

Enrique stated in a pre-game press conference that focusing on off-pitch events can hinder performance. "Experience tells me that when someone is keeping an eye on what is going on off the pitch, they stop doing what they need to do on the pitch," he said. Therefore, PSG aims for a win to improve their league standing and secure progression.

PSG Aims for Victory Against Stuttgart

Stuttgart presents a formidable challenge as they occupy the final play-off spot in 24th place with 10 points, level with PSG. They finished as runners-up to Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga last season. This makes the upcoming match crucial for both teams.

Enrique acknowledged Stuttgart's strength, noting their second-place finish last season and their roster of international players. "Of course it is going to be a hard game," he remarked. Despite being from pot four, Stuttgart poses a significant threat, and PSG is preparing for a tough encounter at their stadium.

Despite criticism of PSG's perceived underperformance during the league phase, Enrique believes they deserve a higher position in the 36-team table. He expressed confidence in his team's performances, especially at home. "I have a very different opinion from all of you," he stated, highlighting their superiority over most opponents despite not always converting chances into goals.

The coach remains optimistic about maintaining their current path throughout the season. As PSG prepares for this critical match against Stuttgart, they aim to demonstrate their capabilities and secure advancement in the Champions League.
