Paris Saint-Germain's manager, Luis Enrique, has dismissed any thoughts of over-confidence as his team prepares for their Champions League match against Brest. The first leg of this knockout phase play-off will be held in Guingamp due to UEFA stadium rules. Despite PSG's strong performance in Ligue 1 and a recent 5-2 victory over Brest, Enrique remains cautious.
Luis Enrique emphasised the unpredictability of football, stating that the best team doesn't always win. "Brest can score goals against us," he noted, highlighting the need for thorough preparation. He acknowledged Brest's impressive performances last season, which earned them a spot in the Champions League. "We are all aware of the importance of this match," he added.

PSG have been dominant against Brest historically, remaining unbeaten in their last 30 encounters across all competitions. Their last loss to Brest was back in January 1985. However, Enrique stressed the significance of approaching each game with focus and determination.
The return leg is scheduled for February 19 at Parc des Princes. Enrique highlighted the unique nature of this tie between two French clubs and acknowledged PSG as favourites while recognising football's unpredictable nature. "We have to win; we have no choice," he stated firmly.
Enrique also pointed out Ousmane Dembele as a crucial player for PSG in this fixture. He praised Dembele's ability to find space and finish with one touch, adding value to the team's dynamics. "It's great to be part of a team where these qualities come together," he remarked.
Brest have shown resilience in their Champions League journey so far, losing only one out of four home games during the league phase. Their sole defeat came against Real Madrid with a scoreline of 0-3. Impressively, they are the first French club since Nice in 1956-57 to advance past the first round of European competition in their debut campaign.
As PSG gear up for this important clash, they remain focused on securing victory over both legs to progress further in the tournament. The team's commitment to success is evident as they prepare meticulously for each challenge ahead.
