Paris Saint-Germain's manager, Luis Enrique, believes his team poses a significant threat to Liverpool in their upcoming Champions League match. Following a 4-1 triumph over Rennes, PSG remains undefeated in Ligue 1 this season. This victory marks their sixth consecutive league win, extending their lead to 16 points over Marseille. Enrique feels this success will boost his team's morale ahead of Tuesday's clash with Premier League leaders Liverpool.
PSG's recent performance has been impressive, with the team scoring 70 goals in Ligue 1 this season. This achievement marks the ninth time a team has reached such a milestone after 25 games. PSG is the only club to have accomplished this feat more than twice, having done so previously in the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons.

Enrique praised his players' adaptability and mental strength, highlighting their ability to perform under pressure. "I have to emphasise the mentality of my players, that all of them, whether they play or not, are competitive and want to fight for everything. It's a pleasure for me to coach them," he stated. The team's tactical flexibility allows them to excel both in possession and when countering opposition pressure.
The Spaniard expressed confidence in his squad's readiness for the Liverpool game. Despite losing the first leg 1-0, Enrique remains optimistic about their chances. "I think we'll be in the best possible shape for the Liverpool game. We've got nothing to lose. Our only objective is victory and that's what we're going for," he said.
Following their match against Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday, PSG will host Marseille in Ligue 1 next weekend. This schedule presents a challenging period for the team as they aim to maintain their unbeaten run in domestic competitions while progressing in Europe.
Enrique acknowledged that football often brings surprises but remains hopeful after analysing their previous performance against Liverpool and securing a win over Rennes. "Football allows for surprises; it is true that we were down and sad after the first game, but as we have analysed the game and after beating Rennes, a difficult team, it makes us hopeful," he noted.
The manager also highlighted PSG's attacking prowess during their victory over Rennes. Bradley Barcola and Goncalo Ramos found the net before Ousmane Dembele added two late goals to seal an emphatic win.
As PSG prepares for these crucial fixtures, Enrique emphasises that having nothing to lose makes them even more dangerous opponents than usual. This mindset could prove pivotal as they seek success both domestically and on the European stage.
