Paris Saint-Germain's manager, Luis Enrique, acknowledged that Tottenham Hotspur deserved victory after PSG's dramatic comeback in the UEFA Super Cup. Trailing 2-0, PSG managed to equalise within 10 minutes late in the game. Second-half substitutes Lee Kang-in and Goncalo Ramos scored to force a penalty shoot-out, which PSG won 4-3.
Despite Tottenham taking a 2-0 lead with goals from Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, PSG dominated possession with an impressive 74.1% share of the ball. This control was crucial in their eventual triumph. The victory marked the 12th time in the last 13 editions that the UEFA Super Cup has been claimed by the Champions League holders.

In Thomas Frank's first competitive match as Tottenham's coach, his team initially took control. However, PSG's late surge turned the tide. Luis Enrique described this comeback as miraculous given Spurs' strong start.
After the match, Luis Enrique candidly asked reporters if they thought PSG deserved their win. He stated, "Do you think we deserved that? For 80 minutes, we didn’t deserve that. I think Tottenham deserved the win in the match." He admitted that Tottenham appeared more prepared due to their longer training period compared to PSG’s shorter preparation time.
The former Barcelona coach continued: "To be honest, I think we don't deserve this trophy because we could see the difference between a team like Tottenham after six weeks of training and us after only six days." Despite acknowledging their fortune in scoring two late goals and reaching penalties, Enrique expressed happiness for their fans who supported them throughout.
Enrique highlighted how his team struggled with poor passes but managed to capitalise on their chances. He praised his players for seizing the opportunity and expressed gratitude towards their loyal supporters who never stopped cheering even when they were behind.
