Uruguay lost the Copa America 2024 semifinal match against Colombia, but the post-match chaos and fight among the players took centre stage.
Uruguay striker Luis Suarez's controversial behaviour resurfaced during the Copa America semi-final on Wednesday night. The Uruguayan striker seemed to attempt a bite on a Colombian player after their team's defeat.

Colombia secured a spot in the Copa America final for the first in 23 years by defeating Uruguay. Jefferson Lerma scored the only goal in the 39th minute, leading to a 1-0 victory. They will face Lionel Messi and defending champions Argentina on Sunday.
The match was intense, featuring seven yellow cards and one red card. After the final whistle, players from both teams engaged in a scuffle on the field. Darwin Nunez and several Uruguay teammates even entered the stands as fans clashed. Nunez was also seen hitting a Colombia fan in the stands.
The incident involving Suarez overshadowed what was an otherwise thrilling match between Uruguay and Colombia. The game saw high tensions both on and off the pitch, culminating in chaotic scenes post-match.
After the match, Suarez can be seen getting closer to a Colombia player and getting his face close to the right shoulder of the Colombian player. The player immediately reacts away from the veteran Uruguayan but there is no conclusive evidence that Suarez bit him. Afterwards, Suarez could be seen kissing another Colombian player James Rodriguez before getting involved in the brawl again.
Suarez's history of biting incidents is well-documented. In the 2014 World Cup, he bit Italy's Giorgio Chiellini. Earlier, while playing for Ajax in 2010, he was suspended for seven games for biting PSV Eindhoven's Otman Bakkal. In 2013, during his time at Liverpool, he received a ten-game suspension for biting Chelsea's Branislov Ivanovic.
