Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell in the summer. The Blues defender has enjoyed himself in recent weeks after coming back from injury and also netted the opener in a 3-1 victory over Leicester City on Saturday.

It has been reported that Pep Guardiola is a huge admirer of Chilwell and could make a move for the all-action left-back next summer to test the Blues' resolve. Chelsea have spent heavily over the last couple of transfer windows and need to balance their books and could welcome an offer for Chilwell given his injury problems.

A fit Ben Chilwell is comfortably one of the best full-backs in the Premier League but the England international's availability has been a major concern during his stint at Stamford Bridge. The Englishman has missed as many as 57 games since his £45 million move to Chelsea from Leicester City till date. However, he has been excellent whenever he has been available and Manchester City look more than happy to take chance with the 26-year-old.

Chilwell has scored two goals and provided four assists in 22 games across competitions. He has two years left on his contract at Stamford Bridge. Over the years at Chelsea, he has scored nine goals and provided 12 assists in 76 games. The Englishman is known for his excellent work rate down the left flank and ability to contribute with goals and assists.

The left-back position has been a problematic one for Manchester City for several years now. With Joao Cancelo having left, Nathan Ake has been playing at left-back of late but the Dutchman is best suited at centre-back. Chilwell is a natural attacking-minded left-footed full-back, something the Cityzens have been craving for a long time. Landing Chilwell from Chelsea will be an excellent deal for the Cityzens but would create a major void at Chelsea.
