Man United vs Brentford: Which Players Will be Absent In Upcoming Manchester United Match?

After a two-week-long international break earlier this month, Manchester United will return to EPL to host Brentford at Old Trafford on Saturday (October 19).

Currently Man United are sitting at 14th with eight points after seven matches. In their last match before the international break, United ended up in a goalless draw against Aston Villa. The Reds go into the game on the back of a goalless draw with Aston Villa before the two-week hiatus earlier this month. Currently, Brentford are at eleventh with ten points after playing the same number of games.

Man United vs Brentford: Who Will Miss the Match Against Brentford?

As per reports, several players are unavailable for the upcoming clash with Brentford. Erik Ten Hag may have to select the playing XI without several key players against the Bees.

In the game against Villa just before the international break, centre-back Harry Maguire sustained a muscle injury. Initial reports suggest that the England international could be out of action for several weeks due to the injury. Additionally, the Red’s summer signing, Leny Yoro, will be absent from the match as he continues to recover from a metatarsal injury sustained during pre-season, further postponing his debut in competitive football for the club.

Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are still unavailable as they continue to recover from calf and knee injuries. Mason Mount is also out with a knock. Additionally, Noussair Mazraoui will not be available for United this weekend as he recently underwent a successful minor precautionary corrective procedure for heart palpitations.

The problems for United do not end here; in the international break, more news of fitness issues emerged for the United players. Amad Diallo has withdrawn from the Ivory Coast squad due to illness, while Alejandro Garnacho was not included in the Argentina squad this month because of a potential knee injury.

Manuel Ugarte has also emerged as an injury concern after showing signs of discomfort during Uruguay's draw with Ecuador. Kobbie Mainoo was also absent from the England squad due to a hamstring issue. Rasmus Hojlund missed training with Denmark last week as a precaution following his recent return from a long recovery from a hamstring injury.

As of now, it will be a difficult task for Ten Hag to select a proper playing XI, as most of the key players in defence will miss the fixture. Making the situation worse, conditions of many of the midfielders and forwards are still doubtful.
