Man United vs Wolves Playing XI: Is Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Dalot Out? Manchester United Injury Updates, Lineup

Manchester United is ready to host Wolverhampton in a Premier League 2024-25 match at the iconic Old Trafford Stadium in Manchester, England on Sunday (April 20).

United coach Ruben Amorim will review his Manchester United squad's condition after their gruelling Europa League quarter-final clash against Lyon before finalizing his lineup for Sunday's Premier League meeting with Wolves. The Red Devils are still recovering from one of the most thrilling European nights in Old Trafford history, where a chaotic seven-minute spell in extra time saw three goals scored, sealing a 5-4 victory on the night and a 7-6 aggregate win. The dramatic triumph sets up a semi-final showdown with Athletic Bilbao.

Manchester United vs Wolverhampton: Will Bruno Fernandes Miss the Match?

Given the physical and emotional toll of such an intense match, several United players may be rested for the Wolves fixture. With little left to fight for in the Premier League, Amorim could rotate his squad, prioritizing the Europa League as the club's route to next season's Champions League.

Amorim faces a selection dilemma as fatigue could force him to bench regular starters Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot. The Portuguese internationals have been ever-present this campaign but with Dalot drained from Thursday's marathon clash and Fernandes unlikely to be risked in an inconsequential league fixture, rotation appears inevitable. The manager must weigh squad freshness against maintaining momentum, with European glory now United's clear priority.

Amorim said he may have to take some risks with his team selection against Wolves after the exhausting game against Lyon. When asked about possible changes, he replied: "I need to check. Players like Dalot are usually always ready, but today he's very tired. We'll try to protect those at risk of injury. We'll decide tomorrow."

Man United vs Wolves: Team News and Injury Updates

Manchester United's injury woes continue as Lisandro Martinez and Joshua Zirkzee have been ruled out for the remainder of the campaign with knee and hamstring issues, respectively. The club also faces fitness concerns surrounding Amad Diallo, Ayden Heaven and Matthijs de Ligt, whose availability remains in doubt. The trio could return before the season's end but may need extra recovery time. Heaven, who is back from an ankle injury against Newcastle, missed the Lyon match with a minor pre-game issue.

Jonny Evans returned to training before the Lyon match but wasn't selected for the match. His last appearance was against Wolves on Boxing Day. Toby Collyer has missed the last four games with a leg injury and Amorim says he'll likely be out for a few more weeks.
