Manchester City hopeful of landing Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez

English media claims that Guardiola will now go all out for Arsenal superstar Alexis Sanchez as Arsene Wenger has found it difficult to find a resolution for the Chilean's future.

Manchester, July 26: Manchester City are in a record spending spree having bought six players this summer for a combined money of £217.8 million, beating Real Madrid's 2009 high, with the transfer window open in another five weeks.

However, reports claim that Pep Guardiola is far from done in the market and is still looking for players in order to make his squad strong enough to achieve success.

English media claims that Guardiola will now go all out for Arsenal superstar Alexis Sanchez. Arsene Wenger is trying his best to keep the Chilean at the Emirates but the Citizens remain hopeful of finalising a deal.

Sanchez has just 12 months left on his current deal and wants to play for Guardiola again which could be the key in making the deal happen.

Wenger on the other hand, is adamant that Sanchez will stay for another year even if it means losing him on a free next season.

Juventus and Bayern Munich were looking at Sanchez this summer, but both of them have settled for alternatives as Juventus signed Douglas Costa and Bayern tied up a loan deal for James Rodriguez from Real Madrid.

Manchester City's only contender right now is Paris Saint-Germain who are working on a world-record transfer for Neymar from Barcelona and Guardiola is looking to capitalise on that.

It is believed that Alexis Sanchez is only interested to join Pep Guardiola and Manchester City this summer and he is prepared to lower his wages for them than the other clubs in contention for his signature.

Arsenal would be able to go to £300,000 a week in any new contract for the star striker - in what would be the club's biggest ever deal - but he has no intention in agreeing to a new deal.

The Sanchez saga has been going on for quite some time now and we have to wait and see how it ends.
