Manchester City will resume their Premier League campaign with a trip to Molineux on Sunday, October 20, where they will face a struggling Wolverhampton Wanderers side.
After a string of mixed results, Pep Guardiola's reigning champions will be eager to secure three points and keep up the pressure on current league leaders Liverpool.
City, who are chasing their fourth consecutive Premier League title, have slipped slightly behind Liverpool following consecutive draws with Arsenal and Newcastle United. However, they managed to stay within one point of Arne Slot's side with an exhilarating 3-2 win over Fulham before the recent international break.
Despite being among the favorites for the title, Manchester City have been plagued by injury problems that could impact their push for success this season.
One of the biggest blows is the season-long absence of midfielder Rodri, whose consistent performances have been integral to Guardiola's system. In addition to Rodri, young forward Oscar Bobb is expected to be sidelined until the end of the year, further limiting Guardiola's attacking options.
City have also been without star playmaker Kevin De Bruyne for their last five matches after the Belgian suffered a groin injury.
However, there is a positive development regarding De Bruyne’s recovery. The 32-year-old has returned to light training and is making steady progress, though he is unlikely to be available for the clash against Wolves.
Guardiola may also opt to rest De Bruyne for the midweek Champions League encounter with Sparta Prague to avoid any risk of aggravating his injury, with the player likely to make a full return later in the month.

Ake’s presence will be a welcome addition to City’s defense, which has faced big challenges this season.
