London, August 30: The transfer window never fails to surprise us and this summer transfer window has hardly been an exception so far.

Reports on Tuesday (August 29) claim that Manchester City have made an incredible player-plus-cash offer for Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez.

The Citizens have offered to add Raheem Sterling into the deal to try and sign Sanchez before Thursday’s transfer deadline.

This indeed suggests how desperately Pep Guardiola wants Sanchez whom he managed previously at Barcelona that he is willing to let one of their best players Sterling go.

Raheem Sterling made his controversial move to Manchester City two years ago on a ludicrous fee of £49 million and has done quite a brilliant job for the Citizens. Despite his good run of form, he has often been criticised by the Premier League fans and the media which is unfortunate for the youngster.

Still only 22 , Sterling has huge potential and can definitely become a world beater but Guardiola is willing to let him go to get Sanchez which is shocking, considering the value they paid to get the English winger.

Arsenal have insisted that Sanchez is not for sale even though he only has one year left on his contract. However, Manchester City believe that involving Sterling in the deal could break Arsenal’s resistence.

Some reports claim that Arsenal do not want Sterling in return for Sanchez but they want Sergio Aguero which might turn out to be a tough call for Pep Guardiola. City have kept a strong stance throughout the summer regarding Aguero’s future that he is not for sale.

We have less than 48 hours before the transfer window slams closed and it promises to be one hell of a deadline day with plenty of action to take place around Europe and Sanchez surely is more central to all that.
