Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola hints at more signing

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola hints at more signing

London, Aug 6: Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has insisted that he wants to bring in more new faces before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

Manchester City had a terrific pre-season as they lost only once in their four friendly matches. The Manchester Giants last played West Ham United on 4th August and won the match 3-0 comprehensively.

Guardiola's new signing Bernardo Silva made his first appearance for the club along with other new signings like Kyle Walker, Danilo, and Ederson Moraes but despite cashing around £200million already this summer, the Spanish manager hinted that he is expecting for at least one more signing till 31st August.

"I think we need someone else, something else, a little bit more," he told a news conference after the match.

"I never complain in my career as a manager and I was so satisfied with the guys last season.

"The transfer window finishes on August 31, we have time to see what is going on with the people coming and going. We will see."

The Former treble winner also insisted that he is very much happy with his squad's development this season, however, made a warning that no place is guaranteed in the first team squad as his players need to work hard in the coming week to secure a place in next week's Premier League opener against Brighton.

"In the last three games we have scored 10 goals against top teams and conceded just one," he added.

"The stability of the team has been good. We didn't concede too much, we always created more than the opponents and that's why we are quite satisfied but the reality starts now.

"We have to do that under pressure. We did it without pressure in friendlies and now we have to see how we react under pressure.

"They have to convince me this week. I have confidence in them so it's not about that but I have one week to think about it. I have to see Brighton their qualities and their stadium and I'm going to decide."

Guardiola suffered a frustrating season last season after they finished the season third in the league and without any trophy. But the renowned manager will now surely be hoping to turn around the season with the new signings and will be expecting trophies to cement his legacy in the Manchester City's history.
