Bengaluru, August 27: Espanyol left-back Aaron Martin Caricol has emerged as a surprise target for Manchester City, according to reports in Spain.
City have already added three full-backs to their squad following the exit of last season's first choice defenders, Zabaleta, Sagna, Clichy and Kolarov.
The Manchester giants have signed Kyle Walker from Tottenham, Danilo from Real Madrid and Benjamin Mendy from Monaco, while goalkeeper Ederson and winger Bernardo Silva have additionally been bought for around £200million.
However, according to 'record', Pep Guardiola is still eager to add another fullback into the squad with just a week left in the transfer window and has selected the young Espanyol left-back as the potential choice.
Martin has been linked with City for quite a while now and Pep Guardiola's side are allegedly ready to make a firm offer, with the 20-year-old having a £27.5million release clause in his contract.
Espanyol are also reported to be looking for a new left-back, Dídac Vilà from AEK Athens recently, which mostly ignites the fact the that the Spaniard could move to City in the upcoming week.
Martin started his career with the Espanyol reserve team in 2015 and from that point onwards, his impressive performance has led manager Quique Sánchez Flores calling him to the senior team.
Martin also signed a new contract with the club until 2020 and appeared 31 times last season to establish himself as one of the emerging talents in world football. The left-back was also once linked with a move to Real Madrid earlier in his career, however, the deal never materialised.
Manchester City most recently also hold a keen interest in West Brom's Jonny Evans, with the Northern Ireland international believed to be ready for a move to the Etihad for around £30million.
