Manchester City have strengthened their team by signing Sverre Nypan, a promising young talent. The 17-year-old midfielder has committed to a five-year deal with Pep Guardiola's squad, transferring from Rosenborg for approximately £12.5 million (€14.5 million). Since debuting at 15, Nypan has played 70 senior matches for Rosenborg, scoring 14 goals and providing 11 assists.
Nypan is versatile, primarily playing in central midfield but also capable of performing across the front line. He has represented Norway at the Under-21 level. Before joining City, he was reportedly pursued by Arsenal and Aston Villa. This makes him City's fifth acquisition this summer, following Rayan Ait-Nouri, Rayan Cherki, Tijjani Reijnders, and Marcus Bettinelli.

"We're delighted to confirm the signing of Sverre Nypan from Norwegian side Rosenborg," announced Manchester City on Twitter.
Nypan expressed his excitement about joining Manchester City on the club's official website. "I am incredibly happy and proud to have joined Manchester City," he stated. "It's a dream for any young footballer to become part of this club and to join such a group of world-class talent."
The young midfielder is eager to work under Pep Guardiola and alongside fellow Norwegians Erling Haaland and Oscar Bobb. "I am still very young with a lot to learn," Nypan said. "But the chance to be coached by Pep Guardiola, the best manager in the world, will only help me to become a better player."
Nypan also highlighted the special connection between Norway and Manchester City through Haaland and Bobb. "There is already a special connection between Norway and Manchester City through Erling Haaland and Oscar Bobb," he noted. "I am very proud to have become the latest Norwegian player to have joined the club."
This new addition reflects City's strategy of investing in young talent as they continue building a formidable squad for future competitions.
