Manchester City Think Of Titles Every Day, Says Haaland

Erling Haaland underlined Manchester City’s title focus after a 3-0 victory over Brentford kept the Premier League race tight. The result at the Etihad Stadium moved Pep Guardiola’s team within three points of leaders Arsenal, with three matches still left in the season.

Haaland stressed that the squad think about silverware constantly, even with pressure rising late in the campaign. The Norway striker highlighted the demands at the club, speaking after City maintained hope of reclaiming the Premier League crown surrendered last season to Arsenal.

Man City Thinks Titles Daily, Haaland Says

"If you play for Manchester City, you think of titles every single day, he said. Brentford defended well. They are a good team. There are no easy games in the Premier League, so we are happy. It feels good to win 3-0. We just missed the last shot on goal today. We created a lot of chances and didn't get the last shot on a lot of crosses. It's been an up-and-down season. I am trying to do my job and 26 goals is more than last year, so it's OK."

The striker was directly involved in two of the three goals against Brentford, again showing influence in decisive moments. Haaland opened the scoring and later set up Omar Marmoush, lifting his total number of Premier League goal contributions this season to 34, with 26 goals and eight assists.

Haaland’s output this campaign is bettered only by his debut Premier League season with Manchester City in 2022-23, when the forward recorded 44 goal involvements. The latest figures underline a consistent scoring record, even as Haaland described this season as uneven at different stages.

Erling Haaland, Manchester City focus on next Premier League title test

The schedule keeps the pressure high on Manchester City as the club chase Arsenal. After Arsenal visit West Ham on Sunday, Guardiola’s team return to the Etihad Stadium three days later to face Crystal Palace, aiming to at least stay within one result of the league leaders.

"How we approach the next game is to not think of any other games for two days, Haaland added. Then try to win the next game, recover, then next game, and the same again."

The forward’s comments reflected a simple, short-term focus as Manchester City continue to target the Premier League title. With three matches remaining, City’s margin for error is slim, yet the Brentford result and Haaland’s numbers keep the defending champions firmly in contention.
