City to take the first penalty. It's Haaland against Bono for the first!

Sevilla players are all pumped up for the shootout as the trophy means much more to them than their English rivals, who have bigger goals for the season! The penalty shootout is all set to begin!

The referee blows the full time whistle as City couldn't find that winning goal in the closing minutes! There are no extra time in Super Cup this year as the game heads directly to penalty shootout!

90+1' Suso and Rafa Mir come in for En Nesyri and Lamela as four minutes of stoppage time has been added. The change comes right after Kyle Walker fired off target from outside the box!

90' The Sevilla substitute is shown the card for tackling Gvardiol from behind on the left flank. The resulting set piece was delivered on the far post Nathan Ake, who heads it to the target for Bono to make a save!
88' City continue to play passes around the Sevilla box with the aim to penetrate but Sevilla defense remain stubborn!
85' Gonzalo Montiel replaces Jesus Navas as the right back! City make a change too! Alvarez comes on for goalscorer Cole Palmer!
83' Sevilla finally found momentum in the attack as both Acuna and Jesus Navas made overlapping runs to bombard City box with crosses. City managed to keep the danger at bay as the final passes lacked accuracy!
City are going for the kill as they are bombarding the Sevilla box with final passes and crosses. The Spanish are barely holding at the moment!
79' Sevilla defense was stretched on the right flank as Palmer was left unmarked to send in a dangerous cross to the far post but Acuna made a diving clearance to keep the danger at bay!
77' Mendilibar is probably preparing for the penalties as Juanlu came more in a defensive move as he has dropped deep to help Jesus Navas on the right flank. Remember, there will be a penalty shootout straightaway if we don't see a goal in the next 13 minutes plus injury time!

74' We made a mistake. The substitution of Juanlu for Oliver Torres was delayed due and takes place only now as 20-year-old Junalu joins play now
72' Meanwhile play resumes after the break and City continue to dominate possession at 72%

70' Juanlu replaces Oliver Torres in the midfield while the referee calls for a 90-second cooling break!
69' Cole Palmer finds space inside the box following a build up and decides to curl it to the far post! Bono saw that coming and parried it away for his first save of the half!
65' City were caught on the break right after the goal as En Nesyri finds himself clear to the goal! Ederson came off his line citing danger and narrowing the angle works as Nesyri's low shot is blocked and collected by the Brazilian!
However, beating Sevilla is no mean task as the Spanish club has the habit of winning European trophies, which they have proved through their serial Europa League winning run, including last year's final against Jose Mourinho's AS Roma.
Furthermore, the season started on an inauspicious note for Pep Guardiola's Manchester City, who lost the FA Community Shield final to Arsenal recently. However, that defeat was made a thing of the past once Erling Haaland made light work of Burnley in a 3-0 win to kickstart their Premier League title defense.
Their biggest challenge, however, could be having an eye on their next Premier League match in two days' time against Newcastle United. Sevilla, on the other hand, started their La Liga campaign on a sour note as they lost 2-1 to Valencia the last weekend.
To make it worse, Sevilla's Super Cup record is not as flawless as their Europa League run as they have lost all five Super Cup matches since winning it in 2006 against domestic giants Barcelona. Seville side, however, will hope that Jose Luis Mendilibar will be up to the task against his familiar for Pep Guardiola.
Mendilibar, who is often credited as a coach who saves clubs from relegations, helped Sevilla recover from 19th spot mid-season to 12th while ensuring Sevilla claim their seventh Europa League title.
As far as injury news are concerned, City's star playmaker Kevin de Bruyne will play no role in the game after picking up another injury during Burnley match midway in the first half. Fellow midfielder Bernardo Silva and defender Ruben Dias are unavailable as well but given the squad depth of the cash-rich side, the injuries shouldn't bother them.
Injuries do bother a club like Sevilla, who operate at a fraction of a budget in comparison to Manchester City and have defenders Tanguy Nianzou and Marcao uncertain for the big game.
