Bengaluru, February 6: Manchester City are planning to go back in the hunt of Leicester winger Riyad Mahrez this summer.
The Algerian ace went AWOL after a deadline day switch to the Etihad broke down when the Foxes rejected a £65m plus player offer.
The 26-year-old has even been offered help by the PFA after becoming depressed over the failed move to City.
But Pep Guardiola is aiming to make another attempt at signing him when the summer window opens, to bolster his squad.
The Cityzens hope Leicester City will be open to selling him when they have more time to find a suitable replacement.
And Etihad chiefs are planning further talks when the Foxes travel to the Premier League leaders this coming weekend.
According to a Manchester City source, “The club have not closed the door on getting Mahrez, despite what happened on deadline day.
“We're ready to talk to them when they come here at the weekend, we'll use that as an opportunity. He has been on the list since last year.
“It could see something put in place now for further down the line. Pep still wants him and is massively keen.
“If Leicester had more time to get someone in then something could have happened last week but we will see what the future holds.”
We could see a clear-out at Manchester City for the second season in a row as the Sky Blues will be looking to get rid of a few players with big wages like Yaya Toure.
The Foxes wanted at least £90m for Mahrez, who has a deal until 2020, in January, but could demand more if he continues his impressive season.
