London, Feb 12: Two Premier League giants Manchester United and Manchester City are all ready to engage in a transfer battle in the summer as they are looking to fork out money to land Leicester City defender Harry Maguire, according to reports.

United are reportedly frustrated with Chris Smalling's inconsistency and are looking to ship out fringe player Daley Blind in the Summer. And with Mourinho already ruling out any more additions in the attacking third, reports have emerged that the Red Devils ready to splash out cash for a central defender.

Whereas Guardiola is also believed to be not happy with captain Vincent Kompany's fitness and ready to land another defender in their ranks to support Otamendi, Stones and Laporte and apparently also has shortlisted the English defender who signed for the foxes this season from relegated Hull City.

Maguire joined Leicester in the summer for £17m with a five-year deal and with still four years to run on his contract, the player is believed to be rated around £50m by his side.

The 24-year-old in the last two seasons has gone on to establish himself as one of the best young defenders in the top flight.

His impressive display also gave him his international Three-Lions call-up last year where he broke into Gareth Southgate's England squad, earning him three caps already after making his debut in a 1-0 win away to Lithuania.

He is also expected to be in Gareth Southgate's plans for this summer's World Cup.

However, manager Claude Puel Foxes will surely be reluctant to sell Maguire just 12 months after landing him from the Tigers however if a big money offers from such Premier Giants come calling it could be hard for them to get hold of the player.

However, should the English player decides to join any of them, the Foxes have reportedly already lined up a potential replacement as they rumoured to be have targetted Brighton’s captain Lewis Dunk as a potential replacement.
