Manchester United faced consecutive losses in the Premier League after a 3-2 defeat by Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford. Chris Wood's decisive goal in the 54th minute marked his 10th league goal this season, propelling Forest to fifth place, just two points behind Manchester City. Nikola Milenkovic gave Forest an early lead, scoring within 91 seconds from Elliot Anderson's corner.
Rasmus Hojlund equalised for United 16 minutes later, capitalising on Alejandro Garnacho's initial attempt that was saved by Matz Sels. Jota Silva and Bruno Fernandes both hit the woodwork during the first half. Shortly after halftime, Morgan Gibbs-White restored Forest's lead. Wood then extended their advantage with a looping header past Andre Onana.

United's captain, Bruno Fernandes, reduced the deficit just after the hour mark. Despite Ruben Amorim's team pressing for another goal, Forest held firm to secure all three points. This victory left Forest with 25 points from 15 matches, while United slipped to 13th place with 19 points.
Chris Wood's winning goal was his 25th in the Premier League for Forest, surpassing Bryan Roy as their top scorer in the competition. Since Nuno Espírito Santo took charge in December 2023, only Erling Haaland has scored more non-penalty goals than Wood, who is tied with Cole Palmer at 19.
Nuno became only the second manager of Forest to win his first two league games against United since Fred Earp in the 1909-10 season. Meanwhile, Ruben Amorim experienced back-to-back defeats for just the second time in his career; his first was with Sporting in August 2022.
