Manchester United secured their second consecutive win in the Premier League Summer Series, defeating Bournemouth 4-1 at Soldier Field. Patrick Dorgu was instrumental for United, contributing a goal and an assist. This victory places United at the top of the league standings. Rasmus Hojlund opened the scoring early, heading in a cross from Dorgu after just eight minutes.
Dorgu extended United's lead 17 minutes later with a low shot following a quick free-kick by Mason Mount. After halftime, Mount narrowly missed a chance before Amad Diallo scored United's third goal in the 53rd minute. Diallo capitalised on a scramble in the box to find the bottom-left corner with his first touch.

Bournemouth's best opportunity came when David Brooks hit the crossbar. However, Ethan Williams added another goal for United in the 72nd minute with a composed finish inside the box. Bournemouth managed a late consolation goal when Matthijs de Ligt accidentally deflected Brooks' delivery past Tom Heaton.
Despite their loss, Bournemouth remains second in the table, ahead of West Ham. West Ham came from behind to defeat Everton 2-1, thanks to goals from Lucas Paqueta and Niclas Fullkrug. Meanwhile, Aston Villa secured a 2-1 victory over St. Louis City SC with help from Ollie Watkins and Morgan Rogers.
Ruben Amorim noted that Bruno Fernandes would receive more support this season, which was evident as four different players scored for United. The team was efficient in attack, scoring four goals from an expected goals (xG) value of 1.33 and six shots on target out of 13 attempts overall.
Bournemouth had a slightly higher xG of 1.38 but only managed three shots on target from their 11 attempts. Antoine Semenyo and Evanilson missed significant chances to bring Andoni Iraola's side back into contention.
Manchester United's performance highlights their clinical finishing and teamwork under Amorim's guidance. As they continue to lead the Premier League Summer Series, their form suggests promising prospects for the upcoming season.
