Manchester United duo Leny Yoro and Rasmus Hojlund set to miss months with injury

Manchester United have been dealt with a huge blow as two key players have been ruled out for a long time due to injuries.

The Red Devils are currently in USA for pre-season but Erik ten Hag will have to look forward to playing without Leny Yoro and Rasmus Hojlund, who will be missing the first months of the Premier League season.

Leny Yoro and Rasmus Hojlund both suffered injuries during Man United's pre-season match against Arsenal. Both players limped off the pitch and the club has confirmed that the duo will be sidelined for a considerable amount of time.

Yoro, who has signed from Lille just two weeks ago, has fractured a metatarsal in his left foot while Hojlund has suffered a hamstring strain. The former was seen walking with crutches, which feared that his injuries may be worse than it was previously thought.

Yoro is set to be sidelined for at least three months, while the Danish striker Hojlund is set to miss out around six weeks of action. It is a big blow for Ten Hag, who would have wanted the two players in his starting lineup this season.

Manchester United played without them in their latest pre-season friendly against Real Betis and managed a 3-2 victory. Ten Hag does have new signing Joshua Zirkzee who will have to step up for Hojlund, while the Red Devils may delve into the market for another centre-back in the coming weeks.

United will play Liverpool in their final pre-season game before taking on Manchester City in the curtain raiser of English football, the FA Community Shield. Their Premier League campaign commences with a home match against Fulham on August 16.
