Bengaluru, September 7: Manchester United are prepared to offer Luke Shaw to Tottenham in order to sign Danny Rose from the north London club, as per reports from the English media.

Luke Shaw, once upon a time the most expensive teenager in world football, has failed to justify his massive price tag thus far and it is believed that Jose Mourinho has seen enough of the young left-back.

Shaw has had a poor record with injuries over the years which made it harder for him to shine in the Reds jersey but Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is believed to be a huge admirer of the former Southampton defender and could be open to his signature.

Meanwhile, Danny Rose has established himself as one of the best left-backs in the world and his relationship with Spurs has also become sour regarding a contract extension. Rose also went public to say Spurs pay him much lesser than he deserves.

According to recent reports, Manchester United will assess Shaw until Christmas after which they will decide to offer him a new contract or move him on.

Mourinho publicly criticised the player last season, after Shaw returned from a broken leg.

“Luke Shaw? It was difficult for him to be on the bench because I cannot compare him with Ashley Young, with Darmian, with Blind,” Mourinho told.

“The way he trains, the way he commits, the focus, the ambition, I cannot compare. He’s a long way behind.”

“At this level we need the fantastic body he has to play football, the very good technical ability he has, but he cannot play with my understanding of the game.”

Manchester United also remain interested in Celtic wonderkid Kieran Tierney and Fulham starlet Ryan Sessegnon who have shown potential to become world-class full-backs in the future.

Shaw could make Manchester United’s squad for their trip to Stoke on Saturday (September 9) or next Tuesday’s (September 12) Champions League tie against Basel.
