Marcus Rashford, Manchester United: Belfast waitress opens up about ‘weird’ night out with drunken Rashford

Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has been steeped in controversy since he missed last week's Friday morning training. Several reports, pictures, and videos emerged following his absence where he could be seen posting the night before.

Reportedly, he went to Belfast to meet a friend and then partied for two days straight. Belfast waitress, Sarah Adair has come forward in the light of all this to recount her 'weird’ night out with the England forward.

Marcus Rashford

It was Thursday afternoon when Marcus Rashford arrived with his entourage at the restaurant where Sarah works. Sarah said that the forward did not touch any food there, but kept drinking.

Apparently, the Man United forward then proceeded to ask Sarah out for a night out. He also asked her if she knew any nightclubs that would be willing to stay open past their 3 AM curfew if he gave them money.

Recounting the incident, Sarah said, “That made it clear to me that he had already made his mind up that he wasn’t going to training on Friday. He had no plans to go home that night.”

As the night progressed, Rashford and his group visited various other places to keep partying and drinking where Sarah joined them. At one point Rashford said, “I’ve been drinking all day.” Sarah also confirmed that “He was clearly on a mission to have a big night.”

Sarah recounts that at the end of the night, Rashford was so drunk that he dropped 'big wads’ of cash worth around £8,000-10,000. She had to put him to bed following the incident.

She said, “Then he falls back into the wall and I have to kind of scoop him up and on to the bed. He was fully dressed and I reckon he just passed out like that. He didn’t even get under the covers.”

She added, “I’m not surprised he missed training the next day given how late he got to bed and how much he’d had to drink. He must’ve known he wasn’t going to be in any fit state to play football.”
