Manchester United skipper Bruno Fernandes believes that winning the UEFA Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur could be the turning point for the club after a turbulent Premier League campaign.
The highly anticipated all-English final is set to be played on Wednesday at San Mames, with both sides aiming to end their seasons on a high.

United's domestic form has left much to be desired, but their European run has been flawless. Fernandes, who addressed the media ahead of the clash, emphasised the significance of the opportunity, both from a sporting and strategic standpoint.
"It won't change the past. It won't affect what the past has done for us either but what it can affect is the future," Fernandes said at the pre-match press conference.
"Probably, yes, winning a trophy gives a lot of things. In this case, a place in the Champions League and a lot of revenue for the club. It gets, obviously, more players wanting to come to the club," he added.
Fernandes acknowledged the scale of Manchester United's name and stature, reiterating that it continues to attract top talent regardless of circumstances. But he stressed that winning trophies helps push the club forward, especially under new manager Ruben Amorim, who has guided the Reds to their first European final since 2021.
"As players, you just think about what we have ahead of us and what we have ahead of us is the chance to get our hands on the trophy. It won't change the past. It won't affect what the past has done for us either but what i can affect is the future. Probably, yes, winning a trophy gives a lot of things. In this case, a place in the Champions League and a lot of revenue for the club. It gets, obviously, more players wanting to come to the club," Fernandes further said.
He also brushed aside personal ambitions of joining the exclusive list of United captains who have lifted a European trophy, stating his focus is entirely on team success.
With Champions League qualification and silverware on the line, the final against Tottenham is more than just a trophy chase - it's a chance for United to reset their trajectory and signal a new era under Amorim.
