A new season of the English Premier League is just a few days away and Manchester United will fight again to restore their former glory by winning the league after more than a decade.

Last season Erik ten Hag’s squad had made some worst records in the club’s history like most ever goals conceded and most losses along with finishing the league in eighth position. But this season an attempt to improve the situation the Red Devils have already made some signings and a few more are expected.

However even before the season started United got a double injury blow as Leny Yoro and Rasmus Hojlund will be out for a significant amount of time. Reportedly, Hojlund has been ruled out for the next six weeks due to a hamstring problem and the new signing Leny Yoro will be out for almost three months with a fractured metatarsal. Both the players got injured in the pre-season match against Arsenal.

What Will Be the Impact on Man United’s EPL Campaign and Who Will Be the Replacement?

Most certainly both the players will miss the Community Shield match against Manchester City on August 10 and the starting of the EPL matches.

The 18-year-old new signing Leny Yoro has joined United on a £52m deal from Lille and has been the most expensive transfer in EPL so far. Hence, after the injury in the central defence, Lisandro Martinez had to pair up with Harry Maguire. Any further injury or suspension will lead to no other proper alternative.

As for the injury of Hojlund, Joshua Zirkzee, the new signing is the only proper striker in the squad. The Norwegian striker scored 10 goals last season which is jointly the highest for the club and the absence could be costly for the English side. Erik ten Hag has other options in forward position but they all failed to impress in the last season.

In the preseason matches also Man United has lost to Liverpool and failed to win against Arsenal. As of now, for the upcoming season, United have put up a strong midfield but for the centre-forward position they have to depend on Zirkzee for some time who has been untested so far in EPL.
