Erik ten Hag is convinced that Manchester United's persistent injury issues are hindering their progress across all competitions. During their 1-1 Europa League draw with Fenerbahce, Antony had to leave the field despite no contact from opponents. The Red Devils were already missing 10 key players for their trip to Turkey, nine due to injuries, echoing last season's challenges.
Last season, Manchester United faced 45 injuries, more than any other Premier League team. This has led to a shaky start this season. Ten Hag's team has only won four out of 13 matches in all competitions, drawing five and losing four. They also rank in the bottom 10 for expected goals against (xGA) with 12.4 in the Premier League.

Players like Luke Shaw, Leny Yoro, and Tyrell Malacia have yet to play this season. Ten Hag acknowledges this as a significant issue at Old Trafford. "Yes, it holds us back in our levels and also in our position in the league," said Ten Hag. "When you don't have the players available, you can't line up the best team."
Kobbie Mainoo and Mason Mount are also notable absentees. However, defender Jonny Evans is anticipated to return before United's match against West Ham on Sunday. The club hoped hiring Gary O'Driscoll from Arsenal as head of medicine would address these problems a year ago.
The anticipated improvements have not materialised, leaving Ten Hag aware that his team will struggle to reach their potential without a solution. "We need more players available often," he stated. "We all have to work together on this point - the players, the coaching staff and all the other staff."
Ten Hag emphasises collaboration among players and staff to improve availability. He believes that when they have a full squad, they become a formidable opponent capable of achieving great success.
