Manchester United are not planning to pursue their rivals Arsenal's target and Bretford's England forward Ivan Toney until the transfer deadline day, according to Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg.
The Red Devils started their season with a 1-0 win over Fulham at Old Trafford last Friday (August 16) and have been active in the transfer market, with more moves expected before the deadline.

Despite signing Joshua Zirkzee, United have been linked with Toney, who was absent from Brentford's squad during their 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace on Sunday (August 18). However, Plettenberg reported that United are not considering a move for the 28-year-old striker until the final day of the transfer window.
The club has already secured the signings of Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Noussair Mazraoui, and Matthijs de Ligt. They are also in discussions with Paris Saint-Germain for midfielder Manuel Ugarte. This indicates that United are looking to strengthen their squad significantly before the window closes.
Plettenberg shared on X.com: "Told again that Manchester United currently not considering to sign Ivan #Toney until Deadline Day! No approach is planned yet. Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee should play regularly." He added that Toney is one to watch in the next 13 days due to strong interest from Saudi Arabia.
Toney has one year left on his contract and is expected to leave this summer. Despite this, no significant moves have been made for him yet. Al-Ahli from Saudi Arabia showed interest but had a £35 million offer rejected last week.
It's surprising that no clubs have made a strong push for Toney as the window nears its end. Some might be waiting for a potential discount deal if they hold off a bit longer.
United currently have Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund as their main strikers, with Marcus Rashford also capable of playing centrally. It's uncertain how much they need Toney right now, but he would provide a different option if they decide to make a move.
The situation remains fluid as clubs assess their needs and strategies before making final decisions. Fans will be keenly watching how this unfolds in the coming days.
