In a last-minute move, England manager Gareth Southgate has included Manchester United goalkeeper Tom Heaton in his unit just days before Euro 2024 kicks off in Germany.
Southgate recently trimmed his provisional 33-man squad down to the required 26 for the European Championships. Notable exclusions due to injury and selection choices include Harry Maguire, Jack Grealish, and James Maddison.

As a last inclusion to the side, Heaton made it to the roster. However, the veteran, who has been Manchester United’s third-choice goalkeeper for the last two seasons will not be a part of England's Euro squad.
The shot-stopper will only travel to Germany acting as a training goalkeeper of the team. His role will be crucial in supporting the team's preparations by working closely with primary goalkeepers Jordan Pickford, Aaron Ramsdale, and Dean Henderson.
Heaton will bring notable experience to the camp, having been part of the England squads for Euro 2016 and the 2019 Nations League.
Known for his positive influence at Old Trafford, the former Burnley captain is expected to provide similar influences to the national team during their stay in Germany.
Heaton's current Manchester United contract will end this summer. However, United are hopeful of tying the 38-year-old down to a new deal.
