Manchester United and Real Madrid target Savic will cost more than £70m, claims Club director

London, Feb 26: Real Madrid and Manchester United's next Summer target Lazio's midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic will cost more than €70million, the Italian side's sporting director has claimed.

Savic has been drawing attraction from all over Europe for his solid midfield play and many pundits also claimed him to be the same mould of player of former Barcelona and Current Manchester City star midfielder Yaya Toure.

Now the 22-year-old midfielder's switch to a European heavyweight is widely reported to be on the cards in the next Summer as according to reports, European giants like Manchester United and Real Madrid are ready to rival each other with a hope of eyeing a deal for the Serbian in the Summer.

Madrid reportedly have a plan to freshen up their squad at the end of the season with some big midfield signings whereas United are also said to be in the market for at least two midfielders as both Marouane Fellaini and veteran Michael Carrick are said to be leaving the side after this season.

But amidst all these reports, Lazio's Sporting director now has made a public statement and fired a warning to Savic's suitors as he has claimed that bids in the region of €70million will not be enough to tempt Lazio into selling the player.

"Over the summer we received, and rejected, an offer worth €70m for Milinkovic-Savic," Lazio sporting director Igli Tare told Mediaset Premium.

"We want to make Lazio a point of arrival for players rather than a stepping stone to bigger clubs. We have a lot of work to do, but that is our objective.

"The team was built to achieve certain objectives and from now until the end of the season, there will be no more transfer market distractions. Rumours in the media are part of the profession and you must learn to live with them.

"We want to win the Coppa Italia and qualify for the Champions League. We won't snub the Europa League, but the principle target must be a top-four finish in Serie A."

Savic has been a star performer in the Biancocelesti's challenge for Champions League qualification in Serie A this season as the Serbian has already scored nine goals and helped in two to make Lazio climb a third in the league as of now.
