Manchester, April 29: Manchester United showed the world their financial pulling power last summer when they broke the world transfer record to bring in Paul Pogba from Juventus despite not being in the Champions League.

Now, reports are suggesting that they are looking to create a whole new transfer record this summer as Barcelona star Neymar is a wanted man by the manager Jose Mourinho.

The Red Devils paid Juventus a massive £89m for Pogba, but the recent reports suggest that they are prepared to spend a whopping €200m (£168.56) on Neymar this summer.

It is also reported that Neymar is well aware of the situation and is eager to move to Old Trafford as well.

Manchester United are said to be so desperate for the signature of the Brazilian superstar that they could even activate the 25-year-old's release clause which is thought to be somewhere around €200m.

Neymar is among the most popular and marketable sportsmen around the globe and being just 25 years of age, makes his stock rise even higher.

He is the captain of Brazil and already has more than 50 international goals to his name. So, it is hardly a surprise to see Mourinho wanting the star winger so badly.

It is also a popular belief that Neymar is looking to come out of the shadow of Lionel Messi as soon as possible and that is a tough thing to do staying at Barcelona. At the Red half of Manchester, he would be the main man up front and that is a big temptation.

However, Manchester United must ensure that they have Champions League football next season if they dream of such a massive transfer to become a reality.

Mourinho is also said to be keen in the signature of another superstar forward Antonie Griezmann to revolutionise their attack.
