Manchester United starlet Tosin Kehinde gets first-team opportunity ahead of West Brom clash

London, Dec 17: Jose Mourinho has promoted Manchester United Under-23 player Tosin Kehinde into the first team training session on Friday ahead of West Brom away trip after United's sort of options in the midfield section following Maraoune Fellaini's unavailability until 2018 and Michael Carrick and Paul Pogba's absence.

United have recently declared that Fellaini will miss up to three weeks because of injury he sustained against Brighton on 25th November.

On the other hand, veteran midfielder, Michael Carrick is also healing from a heart problem and currently unavailable whereas Paul Pogba is facing a suspension because of conceding a red card in the match against Arsenal two weeks back.

This sort of situation has led lack of options in the midfield section as United currently have only three first-team midfielders Matic, Herrera and Mctominay at their disposal.

To have more options in their hand, Mourinho looked for an additional option in the midfield and after analysis had handed over a first team training session to Nigerian youngster Tosin Kehinde.

The midfielder himself declared the news on Twitter and the 19-year-old tweeted: "Good session with the first team today."

The Nigerian has been one of the best players for Man United’s under-23s side this season, displaying a superb consistency of quality performances throughout the reserve league.

The 19-year-old earlier had been in the Tottenham academy but later joined United at an early age. He has made nine starts for the reserves this season, with a further 12 substitute appearances.

Mourinho has already handed the first-team debut to academy players like Joel Pereira, Axel Tuanzebe, Scott McTominay, Angel Gomes and Demetri Mitchell but it is highly unlikely the Nigerian will feature against West Brom tonight.

But bringing another player from the academy will surely send a positive vibe to the academy house and seeing these many youngsters could step up their hard work more for a future chance.
