Manchester United Stars Maguire, Onana, and Dalot Set for First-Ever Visit to India

By MyKhel Staff

Apollo Tyres is set to host Manchester United's current players Harry Maguire, Andre Onana, and Diogo Dalot for their debut visit to India. The players will be in Mumbai on May 29 to officially inaugurate the fifth edition of Apollo Tyres' flagship grassroots football programme, United We Play.

This marks the second time Apollo Tyres has brought active Manchester United footballers to the country. The previous occasion was in December 2022, when David De Gea, Anthony Elanga, and Donny van de Beek visited Goa as part of the initiative.

During their time in India, the trio will not only flag off the 2025 edition of United We Play, but also participate in fan engagement activities and interact with budding footballers supported by the initiative. Their presence aims to inspire young players and create memorable experiences for Manchester United fans across the country.

United We Play, a collaboration between Apollo Tyres and Manchester United, is a pan-India programme that provides a platform for young football talents to demonstrate their abilities. The initiative is designed to encourage grassroots participation, promote global best practices in training, and nurture the passion for football among the country's youth.

Reflecting on the previous edition's success, Rajesh Dahiya, Vice President, Commercial (India, SAARC and Southeast Asia) at Apollo Tyres Ltd, shared:

"The fourth season of United We Play concluded last year with a visit from Manchester United legend Gary Neville, wherein more than 15,000 young footballers from across the country participated. It reached out to 18 cities pan-India and over 100 coaches were engaged through virtual Manchester United Soccer Schools training sessions, ensuring that the teachings and training methods reached every footballer involved in the programme. In addition, the initiative was also expanded to more cities in the Asia Pacific and Middle East regions across cities such as Kathmandu, Bangkok, Dhaka and Dubai."

Expressing his enthusiasm ahead of the visit, Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana said:

"We are looking forward to engaging with everyone in India to launch the new season of United We Play and promote our sport to the next generation of stars. We are also excited to see the fans over there, to thank them for their passionate and loyal support."

With this high-profile launch, Apollo Tyres continues its mission of developing football at the grassroots level and bringing global icons closer to Indian fans and aspiring athletes.
