Manchester United step up chase for midfield maestro Seri

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is weighing up a deal that would see Seri join the Red Devils in the summer after having a fall out with the 24 year-old Pogba for a string of bad performances.

Bengaluru, February 25: Manchester United have reportedly stepped up their chase for Jean Michael Seri after doubts over Paul Pogba's future at the club increased in the last week.

The Nice midfielder's representatives are said to have been contacted by United chiefs as they are worried their £89million midfielder Pogba could leave the club this summer.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is weighing up a deal that would see Seri join the Red Devils in the summer after having a fall out with the 24 year-old Pogba for a string of lacklustre performances.

That included being subbed in the 1-0 loss to Newcastle and being left on the bench in the goalless draw with Sevilla on Tuesday (February 20).

The Ivorian midfield maestro saw a move to Barcelona fall through in the summer but has interest in the Premier League.

Even though MAnchester United are leading the chase but Chelsea and Liverpool have also tracked the Ivory Coast international.

Manchester City have considered him but are favouring a move for Shakhtar Donetsk’s Fred now.

All clubs are aware that the ex-Porto midfielder has a release clause that can see him move for less than market value.

Pogba's falling out with Mourinho could see the former Juventus star leave Old Trafford for the second time after just two years.

However, Pogba would cost a fortune to any club and there are doubts whether any club could afford that much money right now.

PSG and Real Madrid are both being contacted by Pogba's agent Mino Raiola but it is reported that both clubs are skeptical over the move.

Real Madrid have Luka Modric and Toni Kroos in Pogba's place whereas PSG need to balance their books following their world-record signing of Neymar last summer.
