Roy Keane criticised Manchester United's performance in their FA Cup win over Leicester City, describing them as looking like strangers. Harry Maguire scored a contentious 93rd-minute goal from Bruno Fernandes' free-kick, which stood due to the absence of VAR. Bobby De Cordova-Reid had initially put Leicester ahead before Joshua Zirkzee equalised for United in the 68th minute.
Manchester United struggled to create chances, with Alejandro Garnacho's effort cleared off the line by Caleb Okoli marking their first shot on target in the 65th minute. Despite this, they remain unbeaten in their last 19 home FA Cup matches, winning 17 and drawing two. However, Keane expressed concerns about deeper issues within the team.

The Red Devils have conceded 32 goals in 20 matches since Ruben Amorim took charge, averaging 1.6 goals per game. Only Tottenham, Southampton, and Leicester have conceded more among Premier League teams during this period. Keane warned against being misled by the victory, stating that while United advanced to the next round, their performance was lacking.
Keane emphasised that substitutes improved United's play by introducing more direct and forward passes but insisted they should do more. He noted that United were fortunate to win and highlighted Amorim's dissatisfaction with the performance despite being pleased with the result.
Leicester managed an expected goals (xG) total of just 0.9 from six shots but frequently breached United's defence. Keane pointed out this vulnerability during his analysis. He remarked on the manager's frustration with the lack of energy displayed by United players.
"The manager is obviously really frustrated with the performance," Keane said. "He mentioned about having no energy, that's the bit I don't understand." He stressed that energy and enthusiasm are crucial starting points for any team.
Keane argued that regardless of tactics or player confidence levels, energy is essential for success on the pitch. Without it, he claimed that no system would be effective in closing down opponents or maintaining possession effectively.
"If you've got no energy," Keane added, "it doesn't matter what system you're playing; you won't get near anybody." He observed that Leicester found success against United due to this lack of intensity.
The former player concluded that both teams performed poorly on the night and suggested that a more skilled opponent than Leicester could have secured victory against Manchester United.
