Bengaluru, March 20: Manchester United have made enquiries over a summer move for Arsenal star Hector Bellerin, according to reports. The Spain international has been earmarked as a potential long-term heir to veteran Antonio Valencia.

The Red Devils have asked Bellerin's camp to be kept informed on future developments ahead of a possible summer move, according to a leading daily of Manchester.

Jose Mourinho is yet to make contact with the 22-year-old personally, but it is understood the club has made their interest known and are in regular contact.

The full-back has frequently been linked with a move away from the Emirates with suggestions he is unhappy with life in North London.

Bellerin was once considered one of the best full-backs in the league but recently his progress has stalled.

At that time, he was regularly linked with his former club Barcelona but those days seem a long ago now.

The Spaniard has more than four years left on his contract with Arsenal and attempts by Juventus, Manchester City and Barcelona to lure him away have all failed.

Though he is understood to still be committed to his contract, a tumultuous few months with Gunners supporters could lead him away from the Emirates.

Mourinho is on the look out for a potential long-term option at right-back and a future replacement for Valencia who turns 33 in August.

But United will potentially have to put up a fight if they want to sign the explosive defender.

Juventus are apparently more determined this time to seal his signature after their last-gasp attempt last summer failed.

Arsenal are reportedly happy to see him go for £50million to create funds to rebuild their squad.
