The Red Devils will need a reliable goal scorer by the end of the season after Cristiano Ronaldo abruptly left the side.
The Old Trafford club since have found it difficult to fill the void. Under Ten Hag, current striker Anthony Martial has shown flashes of his lost form. But due to his escalating injury problems, the club was forced to find a replacement with Burnley striker Wout Weghorst.
But United's acquirement of Wout Weghorst is likely to be temporary given his current struggle on the pitch. In the event that the deal becomes permanent, the on-loan striker will only be used as a backup striker.
Marcus Rashford has served well in the number nine role at this moment. It is, however, important for Manchester United to find a new number nine to replace the 25-year-old who has flourished better as a left-sided attacker.
Napoli's Victor Osimhen and Tottenham Hotspurs' Harry Kane are also believed to be on their wishlist however as per rumors, United have been most impressed with Benfica striker Goncalo Ramos this season.

Goncalo Ramos has come up through the ranks at Benfica and in the ongoing season, he has been on fire. The 21-year-old has featured in 33 games this season and has recorded a massive 21 goals and eight assists so far in all competitions. The youngster is also expected to displace Cristiano Ronaldo in the national side as well.
In order to entice him away from the Portuguese club, Manchester United could have to pay a premium. The 21-year-deal old's with the Portuguese team runs until the summer of 2026, and reportedly it includes a €120 million release clause. It remains to be seen if the Premier League giants and Benfica can come to an agreement on a price for Ramos, who has the potential to become a top-tier striker for the Manchester club.
