Manchester United vs Leicester City: Alejandro Garnacho’s subdued reaction to his goal in Manchester United's 3-0 win over Leicester City left fans puzzled, and captain Bruno Fernandes has offered insight into why the young Argentine didn’t celebrate.
Garnacho came off the bench in the 57th minute and later scored with a spectacular strike, yet instead of celebrating, he walked back to the halfway line with a frustrated expression.

Garnacho’s lack of celebration appears to stem from recent criticisms he’s received from a section of United supporters. Fernandes, who was seen speaking to Garnacho on the pitch after the goal, later revealed that the young winger felt some fans had lost faith in him.
“Garnacho scored a banger but didn’t celebrate like he should because he thinks he has lost faith from some fans,” Fernandes said in a post-match interview with the BCC. “I told him people will always moan but lots of people like you and enjoy what you do.”
Fernandes encouraged Garnacho to embrace the positive aspects of his performances, reminding him that he is valued by the team and fans alike. “I told him to celebrate, it was something special,” Fernandes continued. “He is a special player, and we have difference-makers. They are the ones who win us games.”
This recent incident is the latest demonstration of Alejandro Garnacho’s sensitivity to fans' reactions, particularly after he was recently involved in a heated exchange with a supporter who criticised his passing, goal-scoring, and first touch.
Although still only 20 years old, Garnacho is seen as one of United’s brightest prospects. His goal against Leicester was his seventh of the season, adding to his impressive tally since breaking into the first team.
It will be interesting to see if the Argentine continues with his muted celebration if he finds the back of the net again in Manchester United’s next Premier League match against Ipswich Town, which is scheduled for November 24.
