Man Utd vs Man City Playing XI: The EPL champions Manchester City will face the FA Cup champions Manchester United in the Community Shield 2024 at Wembley Stadium in London on Saturday (August 10).

The defending champions of the English Premier League Manchester City last won the Community Shield back in 2019 defeating Liverpool, but since then the shield has eluded the champions despite playing three finals after that. On the other hand, the red side of Manchester last won the shield in 2016.

In the last meeting of the two arch-rivals in the FA Cup final, the Red Devils emerged victorious, which led them to this Community Shield final. Both the clubs met each other 193 times in the past and United have the edge as they won 79 of the matches against the 61 won by City, while the remaining 53 matches ended in draw.

Despite being the PL chmapion for a record four times in a row, this City squad lost three of their four pre-season matches recently. Also after a long season followed by Euro 2024 and then the pre-season matches, it might be a tiring experience for the City players and they might start the season as exhausted.
There is no news of any injury though Euro Cup finalists John Stones, Kyle Walker, Phil Foden and Rodri will miss the match. The fitness level of the players will be another concern for Pep Guardiola for this fixture.

City's new signing Savinho can be expected to debut in Saturday's clash. With Julian Alvarez's departure from the club Erling Haaland will certainly start as the centre-forward who also scored a hattrick against Chelsea in the last match. In the midfield, Kevin De Bruyne, Jack Grealish and Oscar Bobb will be expected in the attacking midfield and can be joined by Bernardo Silva and Mateo Kovacic.
