Erik Ten Hag and Manchester United will be looking to build on last season’s third-placed finish. They will be possibly challenging for the Premier League in the upcoming 2023-24 season that kicks off on 15th August when they host Wolves at Old Trafford.
United managed a comfortable third-place finish as well as a Carabao Cup victory to record a comparative improvement to an opposing prior season.

However, they still feel like a work in progress. Now having invested in some big-money purchases over the summer like Mason Mount, Andre Onana, and Rasmus Hojlund their ambitions for the new season should be pretty high.
Starting the season with a game against low-key Wolves who only appointed a new manager this week seems to be the perfect scenario for the Red Devils. The Molineux side have faced a lot of concern in the ongoing campaign.
Their manager Julen Lopetegui left the club due to the club's transfer stance that saw players like Ruben Neves, Raul Jimenez, Nathan Collins, Conor Coady, Adama Traore, and Joao Moutinho all leaving.
New manager Gary O’Neil will take charge for the first time against Manchester United in their first game and surely will face a big task ahead.

United are currently facing a couple of injury issues. New signing Rasmus Hojlund will have to sit out as he is recovering from a minor back injury.
Youngsters Amad Diallo and Kobbie Mainoo too will sit out after nursing injuries in pre-season. Other first-team stars Anthony Martial and Tyler Malacia on the other hand are reportedly still not match fit yet.
Fred and Harry Maguire are set to remain outside of the squad with their exit said to be imminent. Other than that United will have a full fit squad. New signing Mount and Onana are expected to start in the playing XI while Marcus Rashford is likely to lead the striking role.
Wolves on the other hand, as such don't have many injury issues and it remains to be seen how new coach Gary O'Neil sets his team up.
