Manchester United urged to sell World Cup winner

Kolkata, December 18: Former Manchester United skipper and current television pundit Roy Keane has urged Manchester United to sell Paul Pogba this summer as the France international was an unused sub in United's 1-3 defeat to arch rivals Liverpool.

Pogba watched on from the bench as substitute Xherdan Shaqiri scored a quickfire double to take the game away from Jose Mourinho's side.

The World Cup winner has now been an unused sub in the last two Premier League games for the Red Devils and Keane thinks it is time for United to part ways with the former Juventus superstar.

'I think the players are giving everything. I think there’s one or two players not on top form, Pogba on the bench, ' Keane told Sky Sports.

'Come the summer you move him on, he’s left United before. I just think they’re short, defensively they’re short.

'Man United that’s where they’re at, I guess fourth is the best they can get. If you came down from the Moon and knew nothing about Manchester United, you'd think they were an average Premiership side.

'Some of these players are not good enough.'

Meanwhile, fellow pundit and former Liverpool hero Graeme Souness claimed that he believes Pogba could be the best midfielder in the league if his attitude improved.

Souness told Sky Sports: 'I would suggest that he’s someone who’s been allowed to get into his arm chair and when he starts to do something good he starts to believe the things.

'And only the good things, but him for me, he’s not improved since he’s come to England, he’s not got any better.

'I have sympathy with the manager – he’s got a hell of a job on to sort him out and I’m not sure if that can be done and that’s why he stays on the bench.

'Pogba must be sitting they’re thinking surely I’m better than Fellaini, Mata, Matic?'

'And if he had a better attitude he would be better than any midfield player out there today and possibly any midfield player playing in the Premier League.

'To me on the outside he doesn’t seem to have a proper attitude. '
