Maradona can rejoin team as coach: AFA

Buenos Aires, Aug 4: Diego Maradona can return to Argentina football team as coach only if he accepts the association's conditions and agreed to the changes to the coaching staff, said AFA President Julio Grondona.

Argentine Football Association (AFA) in Jul 2010, announced Maradona's contract as national coach would not be renewed after talks between the coach and Grondona failed to produce an extension for a contract.

However, Maradona had since called Grondona a liar.

A legendary striker who led Argentina to a world championship in 1986, the 49-year-old Maradona coached a team that struggled to qualify for the 2010 World Cup.
