Marc Guehi Faces Uncertainty For England's Final World Cup Qualifiers Due To Foot Injury

Centre-back Marc Guehi is likely to miss England's crucial World Cup qualifiers against Serbia and Albania due to a foot injury. His absence could impact the team's defensive options as they aim to secure their position in the tournament.

England's national football team may face a challenge in their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Serbia and Albania, as centre-back Marc Guehi is likely to miss out due to a foot injury. The team, led by Thomas Tuchel, secured their spot in the next year's tournament with a decisive 5-0 victory over Latvia last month. They are set to play Serbia at Wembley on November 13 and conclude their Group K matches in Tirana three days later.

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner shared insights into Guehi's condition before their Premier League clash with Brighton. He explained that Guehi suffered a foot injury during the final moments of Thursday's Conference League win against AZ. "Marc was fouled in the last minute against [AZ]. It was a knock on his foot. A bone bruise," Glasner stated.

Marc Guehi Doubtful for World Cup Qualifiers

If Guehi is unable to participate, England has other centre-backs available, including John Stones, Ezri Konsa, Dan Burn, and Jarell Quansah. Tuchel might also consider bringing in an additional player to strengthen the squad. This decision will depend on Guehi's recovery progress over the coming days.

Guehi has been an integral part of England's defence under Tuchel, starting four out of eight matches since missing the June international window. His absence could impact the team's defensive strategy as they prepare for these crucial qualifiers.

Glasner expressed concern about Guehi's current state, noting that he has been using crutches for the past two days and is unable to walk. "He can't even walk at the moment. The last two days he is on crutches. I don't know how this develops over the next couple of days. But at the moment, it doesn't look good. It looks like he can't play for England as well," Glasner remarked.

As England prepares for these important matches, they must adapt to potential changes in their lineup due to injuries like Guehi's. The team's depth will be tested as they aim to maintain their strong performance in the qualifiers and secure a successful campaign leading up to the World Cup.
