Asensio was called in Julen Lopetegui's squad for the important qualifiers and could soon make his fourth start for Spain. And ahead of the match, his Real Madrid team mate Vazquez who also called in as a replacement for the injured Vitolo, who heaped praise on his Spanish team-mate.

"He is spectacular," Vazquez told Cadena SER about Asensio.

"He is at a very high level and still has to grow. We hope to enjoy him a lot. He is very humble and takes everything with ease.

Spain will face a stern test against Italy which could decide the table topper of the group. Julen Lopetegui's side currently sit top of their qualifying group, level on points with Italy, however with only a marginal goal difference.
