Marcos Rojo explains his comfort to see Sanchez swapping Arsenal for Manchester United

London, Feb 16: Alexis Sanchez's move to Old Trafford has made defender Marcos Rojo happy as the Argentine insisted he is happy to finally be on the same side after years of going head to head with the attacker.

Sanchez has come up against Rojo quite a number of times not only in the club career but also in the international arena.

The former Gunners player had faced United seven times and scored in two matches, winning three. And in all these matches Rojo was in the opposition box and had to deal with the Chilean's trickery and pace.

The Argentine international also had faced Sanchez in two crucial international cup finals in Copa America where Argentina lost twice and Sanchez was on the scoresheet.

However, now after Sanchez's move to Old Trafford, Rojo has humorously said that he is thankful that the player finally joined United as the pair always ended up kicking each other when they were on different teams.

"I have faced him a number of times, playing either against Arsenal or Chile," Rojo told Inside United. "We always seem to have fought on the pitch so it's better we're on the same side as we always ended up kicking each other.

"That's my style and the way I play. I've been this way since I was a kid. I am very aggressive and emotional on the pitch.

"I'm a very typical South American player. We're very aggressive. It is something in my blood. I'm not going to change. Alexis is a great person, now I've got to know him.

"He is a fantastic player and I hope he brings his maximum level to United. He's settling in well. He's got a new house. In fact, it's the one I had when I first arrived at United."

The 27-year-old Argentine also opened up about his long-term knee injury for which he missed football for six months and only came back to football in November.

He was left on the bench at Wembley and St. James' Park and till now has only made 10 appearances. But the defender suggested he now feels '100 percent’ fit and is eager to back his team finish the season strongly.

"I'm feeling 100 percent and I am happy with my previous performances," he added. "They have been at a high level and I'm happy with my physical level, too. It's about getting minutes under my belt and continuing to play.

"My aims for the rest of the season are to play as many games as I can and then win trophies. Last year we won three trophies so it would be great to do something similar this year.

"It would be very important for the club and me personally so I can go to the World Cup with confidence."
